Although I spend many hours on a wedding day photographing the event, I spend even more time after the wedding in front of a computer retouching photos.
The following two examples (4 photos - without retouch and retouched) show how important digital darkroom technique is in photography today.
Needless to say, I retouch all the wedding photos in Photoshop to get the best results.

You are right James, post processing is one of the major aspect for now a days photographers, digital photographers should also know how to make good editing to give a more gorgeous finish goods but of course nothing will replace a good techniques by at the beginning got a good framing with good exposure.
